New Delta Spirit and Tokyo Police Club

I spent the day with Madam Christie and Mr. Thomas Wojda in Louisville, KY and we stumbled upon these two new releases. Delta Spirit and Tokyo Police Club are two of my favorite young groups and both of these sophomore releases are steps in a good direction. Hooray for rock and roll!

Baths - Apologetic Shoulderblades Pitchfork TV

Baths, a rising electronic musician from LA, is set to release his debut album Cerulean on July 6th. I however was able to find a leak to the album a while back and am incredibly impressed by some of the tracks on the album. Combining freak-folk and modern day Beat music, Baths has blended two genres of music that I did not think was possible. Below is a video of Baths doing a live performance of my favorite song on the album "Apologetic Shoulderblades". Be sure to keep an eye on this guy, hes definitely very talented.

Curtiss King- Snick at Night

All beats made with kids shows from the 90s. Pretty sick. Download the mixtape for free on his MySpace.

Skyzoo

Heres the latest from one of my favorite new rappers Skyzoo. Skyzoo is straight out of Brooklyn, and got such a smooth style. Heres a link to a sick Mixtape Cloud Nine, which is produced by 9th Wonder. Sky's album The Salvation is real good, if you like what you hear you should defiantly get it.

Big K.R.I.T

Through living in the South i've grown an appreciation for dirty south music. I recently got onto Big K.R.I.T and love his shit. He's not just another rapper from the diirty, he not only produces all of his own beats, but manages to make money off selling some on the side. Last month he released K.R.I.T Wuz Here, which features guest appearances from Wiz Kalifa, Curren$y, and Devin the Dude. The biggest news for Big K.R.I.T however, is that yesterday he signed to Def Jam Records.
Whether its the Curtis Mayfield samples, or his stories of living in Mississippi, Big K.R.I.T has Soul. Download K.R.I.T Wuz Here and check out the song "King" below. O and by the way.... K.R.I.T said himself that the first person to name all the samples on the album will get $1,000 cash and a tray of brownies from the man himself....I guess so far no one has been able to do it.

Cold Legistics - Prom Nite

Thanks to the boys over at Pot Holes In My Blog for getting me into this track. Hip-Hop/Beat producer Cold Legistics did a good job on this one. Just some more of that kick back music. You can read a review on his latest release Northern Star, as well as download it for free here.
